What’s A Golf Swing Training Aid Worth To Your Game

posted in Golf |

The pursuit of a better game. Does it ever feel never-ending? Have you purchased a golf swing training aid recently in hopes to improve your game? There is a new one coming out weekly it seems. But the age-old question is…”is it helping”?

Big companies are realizing there is a huge opportunity in the golf training aid niche. Golfers are rabid…and will do and pay just about anything to play better golf. Would you agree? I know I’ve been there!

It seem like the celebrity instructors like David Leadbetter, Rich Smith and others are coming out with a new golf swing training aid faster than you can make a swing change. Just when you feel you’ve got it down, another training aid comes out to wet your appetite.

Sometimes this can lead to overload on the brain, but you are a smart person and will make your choices wisely right? I mean…how complicated can the golf swing be? Rotate back and rotate through with a consistent spine angle and you’re golden.

The time to consider a training swing training aid is when you’ve gone to the range, hit a ton of balls, even taken a lesson and still haven’t been able to correct your swing fault. That’s when it may be time to investigate the latest/greatest training aids.

I’ve always looked at it this way.

If I am at the end of my rope with my swing…and have tried everything, I will either pull out one of my “tried-and-true” training aids, or may consider a new one. If I spend $100 on a new training aid (which seems to be the going price these days), and my swing gets better, then I’ve just increased my enjoyment of the game for about the price of maybe two rounds of golf. Well worth it in my mind.

All you’ve got to do is weigh the “pros-and-cons” in your mind and make the decision to take the plunge and get a new hot golf swing training aid, or keep banging balls (and maybe your head against the wall…lol).
